Veterinary Technician

The Coldwater Animal Clinic is seeking to employ a full-time Veterinary Technician to work in our clinics.

Job Description

Coldwater Animal Clinic is proud to serve the Mercer and Auglaize County areas for over 75 years. We are a pet and farm animal veterinary practice consisting of 3 clinics in Coldwater, St Marys, and Ft Recovery, Ohio. We have 5 veterinarians and a staff of over 10 support people including 4 registered veterinarian technicians. In addition to our clinics, we have 4 mobile veterinary units that visit farms in Ohio and Indiana. We are able to perform in-clinic diagnostics including radiographs, ultrasound, otoscopy, blood work, and fecal exams. Our practice is committed to providing top-notch veterinary care.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor health of patients and identify health problems or conditions and report them to the attending veterinarian
  • Provide basic treatment and care for patients including bandaging, nail clipping, ear cleaning, etc.
  • Perform laboratory tests, blood draws, radiographs, and dental cleanings
  • Administer injectable & inhalant anesthesia as instructed by attending veterinarian
  • Intubate patients & monitor during surgical & dental procedures
  • Place IV catheters
  • Maintain patient records
  • Admitting & releasing patients
  • Preparing prescriptions
  • Cleaning of hospital equipment, cages, floors, dishes, bedding, etc.
  • Educate clients about conditions, treatments, medications, products and foods
  • Preparing small and farm animal samples for shipment

Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Technician
  • Technician experience is preferred but not required
  • Basic computer literacy & familiarity with Microsoft Office is required

Associate Veterinarian - Mixed Animal

Job Description

We are seeking an associate that is interested in working for a mixed animal practice, 70% small, 30% large animal. The large animal aspect of this job consists primarily with dairy herds. There is a considerable amount of small ruminant and equine work that is done with the large animal side of the practice as well. The small animal practice consists of routine preventive maintenance, elective and emergency surgery. We would like applicants to have exceptional experience with verbal communication and client interaction. We are looking for an associate veterinarian to join our 6 doctor, 3 practice team. The applicant must have experience in practicing high quality medicine and be comfortable with treating, and handling both large and small animal. On calls and holidays are divided equally between partners and associates. We would be happy to provide mentor-ship to new graduates and welcome them to apply
